Meditation 1


This course is usually offered to members after they have completed 6-7 of our other courses. We find that they are then better prepared to assimilate the meditation course.

The course will take students through a range of meditative practices which will provide understanding of the meditative process and the benefits of meditation. Although there will be a theoretical background, the emphasis will be practical and participative.

During this course, students will understand about the meditation technique offered by the School and will be able to make an informed decision about whether to take that up.


After sufficient practice, this course gives you the opportunity of being initiated into the community of meditators at the School of Practical Philosophy. After being initiated into meditation, extensive group and one-on-one support, if necessary, is made available, particularly during the first few weeks.
