We are fortunate in having the services of Dr John Rogers, Geology lecturer who is an expert on the local topography of Table Mountain. This is partly for fun and partly for interest.Get to know something about your mountain (did you know the top of TM was at the bottom of the sea!)

It will be a mixture of travelling by car and hiking. The hiking is relatively relaxed, though you want to be fit enough to get up to the Contour Path.

This will be open to all members and family and friends though we have to put a cap on the numbers. Bring all the usual hiking gear and also a packed lunch if you want to join us for lunch under the cork-oak trees at the end.

We will see and hear about rock formations in DeerPark Drive, along the contour path, in Silverstream Cave and further along Tafelberg road. Read more here.

Duration: About 3 hours, then time for lunch if you want to stay

Rating: 4/10 fairly easy

What to bring: water, sunblock, hat
